During my past Marrakech phase (it involved plenty of votives and Moroccan lanterns), I had my eye on Philippe Starck’s famed Prince Aha stool. What kept me averting my gaze was its $110 price tag. Regardless of the fact that it was a stool on one side and a side table or foot stool once flipped over, its multitasking qualities couldn’t overcome its triple digit factor. Imagine my surprise when I spotted what I thought was the same exact stool-turned-table on Urban Outfitters albeit for a fraction of the price. Can you tell which one is the real thing and which is its $78 doppleganger? Exhibit A Exhibit B

I love the chair but I doubt Philippe Starck had the original thought on it…..if you look at the “The Table of Silence” by the famous Romanian artist Brancusi http://www.flickr.com/photos/dayseven/612607948/ you will see why
