    A Pooch Perfect Valentine's Day!
    30 January 2009

Ahhhh….Can you Smell it? The scent of love is in the air as we roll into February, inching closer and closer to a day that celebrates all things pink, hearts and of course love.  As you sit and try to brainstorm all the original heartfelt gifts to give (enter heart shaped doily handwritten with love notes) don’t forget to share some puppy love with your main squeeze, Fido.  Below are some personal favorites from local doggie stores from around the city.

Poochie has a sweet tooth? Buttercups Paw-Tisserie located in Park Slope bakes these adorable pooch friendly “canine candies” and “pupcakes” (That look yummy enough to eat!)  Made from carob and yogurt, these sweet treats retail between $8.95 for six pupcakes and $16.95 for a twelve piece candy box. www.buttercuppaw.com

For the Prince/Princess who can never have enough toys, The New York Dog Shop has the perfect way to say “I Wuff You” this February 14th with their plush red valentines day Loofa Dog that retails for just $7.95. www.thenewyorkdogshop.com

Or if you have a fashion forward Fido on your hands they can now literally wear their heart on their sleeve with the ultra hip “whole lotta love sweater.” Found at Trixie + Peanut in the Flatiron district, this adorable sweater retails for $39.00 and will leave your dog feeling like the bark of the block! www.trixieandpeanut.com
